Project Management & Community Preparedness

Working in Emergency Management with the City of Mandurah, I was given the freedom to create, collaborate & connect in order to build community resilience & disaster preparedness.

This enabled our small, but talented team to drive some super exciting projects & multi-agency collaborations, some of which had state & national impact.

I enjoyed working with all levels of government, private enterprise, emergency response services, volunteers and vulnerable communities, sharing concerns, developing ideas, identifying opportunities for growth & improvement.

A few of our proudest achievements included;

  • ‘Beyond the Gate - Aged Care Evacuation Project’ - 2015 Winner WA Resilient Australia Award & Highly Commended National Award

  • ‘Equi-Evac (Equestrian) Centre Network’ - 2017 Winner of both WA & Australian Resilient Australia Awards

  • ‘Prepare the Peel Tourism Project’ - 2019 Runner Up WA Resilient Australia Award  (See 100s of project partners)

  • Coordinating the 2020 Aged Care Pandemic Planning Exercise & Support Network

  • Supporting the Mandurah Volunteer SES & Mandurah Southern Districts BFB, Funding Fleet, WH&S, Facilities (collaborative design, grant funding, & project management)

  • Hosting bi-annual Mandurah Emergency Services Volunteer Appreciation Evening

  • Developing & delivering a range of emergency management exercises, sharing resources with community, other local governments & support agencies
